Kirki eCommerce Alpha 4 is now available, bringing us another step closer to a stable release.
With each Alpha release, we’ve been building out more of the core store experience. Alpha 4 continues that work with customer accounts, wishlists, address management, multi-currency and regional tax settings, a redesigned admin experience, and more.
If you’re testing Kirki eCommerce, please share your feedback through our feedback form. Your feedback helps shape what we build next.
Note: Kirki eCommerce is currently an experimental Alpha release. Some features may be incomplete or may not work as expected. Please do not use it on live sites.
Here’s what’s new in Alpha 4.
Multi-Currency Support

Alpha 4 introduces multi-currency support, making it possible to sell to customers using different currencies from the same store.
Store owners can configure the currencies they want to support, control how prices are formatted, and set exchange rates either manually or by syncing them from a rate provider.
This gives you more flexibility when selling across different markets while keeping currency and pricing configuration in one place.
Regional Tax Management

Tax configuration gets a major upgrade in Alpha 4. You can now define tax strategies and configure regional rules from a dedicated interface, with per-country strategies, a single-rate option, and support for VAT collection.
An inline rules editor lets you create and manage regional tax rules without jumping between screens.
Tax information is also recorded per order line, so orders with multiple tax rates can keep each rate separate. Shipping tax is stored on the order as well, making tax information easier to track.
Redesigned Admin Experience

One of the biggest visual changes in Alpha 4 is the move to our new design system across the admin interface. Form fields, dropdowns, media galleries, colors, badges, layouts, and other interface elements have been updated to follow the new system.
The admin experience also gets several practical improvements:
- Redesigned order details: A clearer order summary, activity timeline, and payment status badge bring order information together in one place.
- Loading skeletons: Settings pages now show loading skeletons while content loads.
- Unsaved changes bar: Kirki eCommerce now shows when you have unsaved configuration changes, helping prevent accidental loss of changes.
- Shipping zone redesign: The shipping zone list has a new design and a clearer empty state.
Wishlists and Address Book

Customer accounts become more useful in Alpha 4 with two additions: Wishlists and an Address Book.
Address Book
Customers can save multiple addresses, add labels, and choose default billing and shipping addresses instead of entering their details every time they check out.
At checkout, customers can select from their saved billing and shipping addresses, with the cart staying in sync when the selected address changes.
Wishlist
Customers can save products to come back to later. Wishlist actions are available on the shop and product pages, and customers can manage their saved products from a dedicated wishlist page.
Efficient Store Management

As your store grows, managing products, customers, orders, and other data can quickly mean more time spent searching through admin screens. Alpha 4 adds several tools to make everyday store management easier:
- List filters: Filter Products, Inventory, Customers, Coupons, and Orders to find what you need faster.
- Data table controls: Sort records, perform bulk actions, and show or hide columns across data tables.
- Quick variant editing: Edit individual product variants directly from the variants list.
- Default profiles: Set default tax and shipping profiles to reduce repetitive configuration.
- Settings search: Search the settings panel using keywords or meaning, with relevant results highlighted.
- Advanced page assignment: Manage which pages are assigned to different parts of your store, with a repair action for missing pages.
2 New Payment Gateways

Alpha 4 adds two new payment gateways for accepting online payments:
- 2Checkout
- Eway
Both gateways are now available in Kirki eCommerce, giving store owners more options when setting up payments.
Multi-Coupon Support in Cart

Customers can now apply multiple coupons to the same cart. For example, they can combine a store-wide coupon with a product-specific discount when both are eligible.
Kirki eCommerce also keeps track of how much of the discount comes from each coupon on a per-item basis, making discounts easier to manage and keep accurate throughout the order.
Alpha 4 also makes checkout easier to understand when applying discounts. The checkout summary now separates item discounts, order discounts, shipping, and tax, giving customers a clearer view of how their total is calculated.
Legal & Consent Management
Kirki eCommerce introduces a dedicated Legal settings page for managing customer consent statements.
You can configure consent text, use page link tokens, and control where each consent statement appears. Terms and privacy consents have also moved from Checkout settings to the new Legal settings page, keeping legal and consent-related configuration in one place.
Better Order Tracking and Invoices
Customers can look up their orders from a dedicated Order Tracking page using their order reference.
Orders now also include invoice numbers, making them easier to identify and track.
Security and Storefront Improvements
Alpha 4 includes several security and storefront improvements as we continue working toward WordPress.org compliance.
- Rate limiting: Added rate limiting across the plugin, including a cooldown before verification emails can be resent.
- Stronger input handling: Improved input sanitization and output escaping across the plugin.
- Secure redirects: Strengthened redirect handling.
- Native WordPress authentication: The storefront now uses the native WordPress login and registration pages.
- RTL support: Added right-to-left language support to storefront styles.
